Bursledon Brickworks

A museum and conservation centre based in a former brickworks dating from 1897, The Hampshire Buildings Preservation Trust Ltd operates the site which features displays covering the history of the brickworks, traditional building materials and conservation practice. The original stationary steam engine, powering the pugmill, has been restored to working order and operates on open days. Details of opening times and events can be obtained from:

Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre

Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre is a 36 acre open-air museum dedicated to the industrial heritage of the south-east. Staffed largely by volunteers, the Museum contains a wide range of exhibits, ranging from transport-based collections, such as the Southdown bus collection & the village garage, to industry-based collections, such as the Print Workshop & Wheelwrights. The Museum is also home to a number of resident crafts people, who work to traditional methods. Details of opening times can be obtained from:
